No, attack the root. This is not the councils fault, its the parents. Arresting council members for a murder is like arresting a bar manager for people getting drunk. To stop people binge drinking you need to attack the real cause of the problem. To stop things like this happening, serious research needs to go into the reasons why this parent did this.
Mums and dads should be banned from posting irrational responses. Emotions skew peoples judgment. The only people responsible for this death are the parents.

But they have a part to play because they nor the doctor took the time to check the child properly..smeared in chocolate or not they should have noticed something, like his hands and under his clothes…if he was so dirty in food why not tell them to clean up the child….these people spent no more that 5 minutes with this child.And they doctor is full of shit. He should have had patience with the baby and do his job..I have seen others do it.

Most of the posts I’ve read aren’t irrational. I suggest you haven’t read enough about this case. Every professional who came in contact with this baby and failed to spot the sustained abuse played a part in his death. From the SW fooled by chocolate to the Dr who didn’t spot he had a broken back. Over 60 visits and they couldn’t save him. To have failed to protect him in the face of so much evidence is inexcusable. As for your research comment – some people are just evil. Simple as that.
You compare child protection to a bar? SWs are there to protect children like baby p-who couldn’t speak. Evil people are the most persuasive, & the most adept at hiding their sadism. SWs are trained to spot abuse & are warned to be sceptical when parents seem eager to comply with them – it is a common ruse. SWs jumped to the conclusion early on that Baby P’s mother was inadequate but not a physical abuser. They then stuck to that in spite of the staggering and mounting evidence to the contrary.
The child was the enabler of this household -the only purpose he served – via benefits. The house was filthy & flea ridden. An ex. of SWs desensitised to what would revolt most of us. Too many people living on benefits – which reward their socially undesirable behaviour of producing unsupported children into horrific conditions. Having children should be a privilege bestowed to those capable of indefinite, unconditional love; not a right & as a means by which to secure benefits & housing.
